THE JOB:
As a Senior Purchasing Agent, you will be essential in finding and selecting the right materials, equipment, and services to keep our operations running smoothly! In this role, you will evaluate bids, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure we get the best quality at the right price, all while keeping accurate records of our purchases. If you have over 2 years of purchasing experience and are excited to work on-site in a hands-on role, we’d love to have you on our team!
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Survey markets for best source of new supply sources
Develop most suitable purchasing arrangement for commodities, including contracts, blanket orders, spot purchase orders, and vendor stocking arrangements
Prepare and issue Request for Quotes and Request for Bids independently; prepare and issue Request for Proposals and Qualifications with limited assistance
Work with departments to develop specifications, technical specifications, minimum qualifications, scope of work and deliverables, as appropriate
Review submitted quotes and bids, and tabulate and evaluate pricing to select the most appropriate supplier and review submitted proposals and qualifications to select the supplier representing the best total value, with limited assistance
Manage vendor relationships through sales representatives and manufacturers, organize sales presentations and meetings for departments and participate in external activities relative to purchasing
Expedite current and back orders, review overdue delivery reports on a regular basis and addresses outstanding items, manage invoice discrepancies with vendors and Accounts Payable and ensure that purchase requisition prices, extension prices from vendors, and purchase requisition approvals are entered in the purchasing system appropriately
Prepare purchasing related reports and statistical and analytical information as requested, monitor purchasing systems and update files, and maintain files relative to purchasing (e.g. price list, catalogs, vendors, purchase orders, etc)
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
High School Diploma or GED
2+ Years of Prior Relevant Related Experience

Pay Rate:
The rate for this role is:
$25.00Should overtime be worked, employees are paid overtime pay in accordance with state requirements.
