Southeastern Virginia Training Center (SEVTC) is seeking a Food Operations Supervisor to join our dedicated Food Services team. This role is essential in promoting the health and well-being of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Food Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation and delivery of meals, transporting food carts between the main kitchen and residential homes, and ensuring all food service operations are conducted in a safe, sanitary, and efficient manner.

Job Duties

  • Supervise and participate in daily food preparation and service activities
  • Oversee delivery of meals and food carts to/from residential homes
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment
  • Monitor staff performance and provide training and direction
  • Maintain food inventory and ensure proper food storage and rotation
  • Ensure meals meet dietary guidelines and special dietary needs
  • Follow federal, state, and local food safety standards

Work Schedule:

  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays:
    • 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
    • 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
    • 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • This position is considered essential personnel and requires availability during emergencies or facility needs.
  • Must be available to work different shifts and overtime as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of food service operations, preparation, sanitation, and safety standards
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Active, valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience in residential food service, including familiarity with food consistency and special dietary requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Previous supervisory experience in a food service environment
