Job Summary:
Under general direction, the incumbent is responsible for providing independent full range of administrative, analytical, and operational functions in support of Housing operations for an on-campus housing program located in traditional residence halls and apartment buildings. Duties include but are not limited to: program and policy research, analysis, coordination, reporting, and evaluation; determining methods, policies, and procedures to achieve programmatic goals; student advisement individually and in groups; ensuring compliance with applicable regulations or requirements; and serving as a liaison to internal and outside parties.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Serve as a member of the Department of Housing and Residential Education (DHRE) administrative office staff providing input and assistance regarding planning, analysis, and policy development for housing operations and procedures.
- Under general direction, participate in department-wide strategic planning, program and policy development, and decision-making related to on-campus housing.
- Assist in the coordination, scheduling, and implementation of campus housing assignment processes and occupancy management functions, including, but not limited to, housing applications, room selection/assignments, license agreements, and billing.
- Annually review and analyze the Student Housing License Agreement in conjunction with the Director.
- Administer the housing contract cancellation process, including initial review of all requests and communication with residents and parents/families about the cancellation request process.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of occupancy records, reports, and procedures pertaining to campus housing, including but not limited to designations, rates, occupancy reports, cancellation requests and approvals, assignment changes, etc.
- Collaborate with team members on housing processes, including but not limited to, move-in/move-out, early arrivals, break, transition, and summer housing.
- Collaborate with internal campus units such as Athletics, College of Extended and Global Education, Educational Opportunity Program, Honors, Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD), etc. for special population housing assignments.
- Research, evaluate and implement best practices including but not limited to the areas of student housing assignment processes, licensure, and billing.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and records in accordance with FERPA.
- Work with Student Financial Services and Student Financial Aid regarding student housing fees, awards, adjustments, and balances.
- Monitor student accounts to ensure accurate and efficient collection of housing fees and outstanding balances.
- Meet with residents, potential residents, and parents/family members regarding housing costs, outstanding balances, financing on-campus housing, etc.
- Assist in the coordination of reserving spaces within DHRE and the Coyote Commons, including billing functions.
- Assist in summer campus programs and conferences.
- Provide lead work direction to student assistants.
- Assist with training and growth of student assistants.
- Create and maintain schedule of student assistants and assign tasks to student assistants that are appropriate for student job classification.
- Participate on department, division, and University committees and task forces as requested.
- Assist in the 3-day or quit (housing eviction) processes and procedures as necessary.
- Perform special duties and assignments as designated by the Director.
- Other classification-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs, plus two years of related experience or equivalent.

- Working knowledge of and ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program and/or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations.
- Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program and/or administrative specialty.
- Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques.
- Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
