Job Description
University Health is seeking an experienced and strategic financial leader to serve as Sr. Director of Finance Operations – BH. This position provides financial leadership for University Health’s Behavioral Health division, with responsibility for optimizing financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting operational excellence.
The Sr. Director will partner closely with the CFO, COO of BH, executive leadership, Finance, and operational teams to develop financial strategies, manage budgets, strengthen financial operations, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
This is an important leadership role for a finance professional who brings strong analytical expertise, sound business judgment, and the ability to translate financial insights into meaningful operational results.
What You’ll Do
As the Sr. Director of Finance Operations – BH, you’ll play a key role in shaping financial strategy, strengthening operations, and helping drive the continued success of our Behavioral Health hospitals. You’ll partner with leaders across the organization to turn financial insights into meaningful action.
Drive financial strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies that align with enterprise-wide priorities and advance service, efficiency, compliance, and data integrity.
Shape the future: Partner with executive leaders and external partners to develop long-term strategies, forecast performance, advance operations, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Lead strategic partnerships: Manage third-party vendors, negotiate contracts, and guide the implementation of innovative technologies and systems that strengthen financial performance.
Oversee financial performance: Lead financial reporting, budgeting, revenue cycle management, and cost containment initiatives to support strong and sustainable operations.
Turn data into decisions: Analyze financial data and translate complex information into clear, actionable insights that support informed decision-making and long-term success.
Build and lead strong teams: Develop, mentor, and empower high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Strengthen financial integrity: Maintain strong financial controls and data governance while ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare regulations.
Navigate a complex regulatory environment: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local requirements, including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
Identify and manage risk: Monitor financial risks, anticipate potential challenges, and implement effective strategies to protect organizational performance.
Build bridges across the organization: Collaborate with leaders and teams across departments to improve financial processes, operational efficiency, and patient care.
Find opportunities through analysis: Develop routine and ad hoc financial and process analyses that uncover opportunities and deliver actionable, value-added insights.
