Senior Counsel-Merchant Solutions

What does a successful Senior Counsel do at Fiserv? This lawyer will support the Financial Institutions business unit within the Merchant Solutions division of Fiserv with an emphasis on drafting and negotiating agreements with strategic bank partners and resellers. This lawyer will also provide legal support to Fiserv’s credit and risk teams, including providing advice on bankruptcy-related matters concerning our merchant clients. As a Counsel, you will also provide advice on laws and rules (including those related to bankruptcy) that impact the transaction processing businesses. This lawyer will provide prompt advice and support to senior business and sales executives.

What you will do:

• Work directly with business unit representatives to prepare and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Advise business partners on legal, contractual, and risk matters impacting their business unit or product set.
• Partner with product teams to commercialize new products and functionality.
• Provide consultation and legal advice with respect to strategic initiatives, technology projects, dispute resolution, and merchant client bankruptcy-related matters.
• Effectively interact with corporate specialists regarding credit, risk, finance, audit, tax, regulatory, privacy, and technology matters that impact the Merchant Solutions division.
• Develop and maintain forms of contracts and other legal documentation.

What you will need to have:

• JD from an accredited law school, and licensed to practice, with the ability to become licensed as in-house counsel to practice in the applicable state.
• In good standing with the State Bar with no disciplinary record.
• Experience as a transactional lawyer or bankruptcy transactional lawyer.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• 4+ years of experience providing legal advice related to bankruptcy matters.

Salary Range

$102,100.00 - $182,400.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey, New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
