Job Summary: 

The Junior Swim Coach is the assistant to the head and assistant head coach. They help implement the practice plan, and make sure all lower level coaches understand the drills and sets. They work all swim meets in the team area to assist the swimmers to get to the correct events. They may have tasks to complete when not coaching on the pool deck to help the volunteer coordinators of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the Arch Amenities Group Experience for residents and guest by maintaining the standards set in Arch Amenities Group Mission Statement/Values; Standards and Expectations, and Arch Amenities Group Brand Standards.
  • Adheres to policies of the facility and Arch Amenities Group.
  • Oversees the technical training of all swim team members at each level of ability to include preparing the team for swim meets and working with the participants on proper stroke introduction and development.
  • Meets regularly with all assistant coaches.
  • Develops and implements regular communication with parents to include a parent meeting at the beginning of the season, weekly communications and advanced notice of meet entries.
  • Meets regularly with location leadership to discuss the program status.
  • Works with team representatives to prepare for home meets
  • Ensures all paperwork for meets is submitted on time
  • Availability to participate in social activities planned by the parents of swim team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be certified in American Red Cross Coaches Safety Training, First Aid and CPR or equivalent.
  • Should have experience meeting criteria for position, coaching summer league team
  • ASCA certification Level 2 or greater recommended
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude toward job, team and facility
  • Maintain professionalism and confidence and can tactfully communicate with parents.
  • Demonstrate a genuine love and care for children; is a positive role model
  • Demonstrate the ability to cooperate and work with others.
  • Demonstrate consistent integrity, dependability, responsibility and be able to meet deadlines.
  • Possess effective verbal/written communication and expression.
  • Display a professional appearance with appropriate dress/uniform.
  • Effective leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Individuals must be able to work in a dynamic, customer service oriented environment; adaptable and flexible under stressful and/or unusual situations.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously
  • Able to show initiative and make decisions
