Job Summary:

The Holiday Help Chef is responsible for food preparation and dinner service during the busy holiday season. This role is responsible for overseeing and running multiple kitchen stations, as well as managing a secondary kitchen/cabin area during peak periods with 3–4 dinner services per day. The position includes supporting inventory management, kitchen organization, and maintaining cleanliness across prep areas, coolers, storage, and dining spaces. The Holiday Help Chef is accountable for their own area while collaborating with chefs and wranglers to maintain par levels, manage product flow, and ensure smooth operations. This role requires a confident and adaptable leader who can step into any kitchen role, lead by example, and support the team in delivering an exceptional guest experience.

 

Job Specifications:  

• Starting Wage: $20.00/hr  

• Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2025/2026  

• Shift Type: Temporary Help hours available 

• Minimum Age: At least 16 years of age

Job Responsibilities: 

• Works all kitchen stations as needed to support operations.
• Communicates effectively with wranglers, managers, and supervisors on duty to ensure proper service during assigned shifts.
• Assists in maintaining smooth kitchen operations and supervises the line crew to achieve assigned tasks according to standards.
• Understands and utilizes the TOCK reservation system to support guest service.
• Prepares and cooks food to order daily while maintaining quality standards.
• Works with guests who have food allergies or special requests for events and special occasions.
• Assists with monthly inventory and helps control labor and food costs.
• Follows fire, safety, and health procedures, and assists in emergency and security situations as directed by management.
• Reports mechanical or maintenance issues promptly to managers or the vehicle maintenance department.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.; responsible for loading and unloading all food and equipment for each dinner service, including heavy pewter dishes.
• Maintains safe and clean work conditions for all staff.
• Ensures food quality and strives to maintain a 100% guest satisfaction rate.
• Helps and assist in the oversight setup and breakdown of the Back Ranch kitchen, bar, and serving operations for each dinner service or scenic ride.
• Assists with snow removal at the Back Ranch as needed.
• Provides instruction and guidance to wranglers/servers during dinner service, in collaboration with managers and supervisors.
• Holds a valid driver’s license and is comfortable driving in snowy and winter conditions.
