Job Overview

Hubbell PCX seeks a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee and coordinate multiple on-site commissioning and installation projects to meet customer requirements.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and project management and a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

PCX Corporation is the leading designer and integrator of engineered and prefabricated modular electrical/mechanical systems for the modular data center, commercial, and industrial markets.  Our product offerings include but are not limited to modular data centers, power equipment centers, custom integrated switchboards, and pre-manufactured indoor/outdoor electrical distribution centers. 

A Day In The Life

The Project Manager oversees and coordinates different related projects in a company to ensure they benefit one another and meet business goals. Their main duties include organizing various programs and activities to improve company efficiencies, building long-term goals for company projects, and developing programs and project budgets. This position reports directly to the Modular Systems Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership and Execution: Oversee, plan, define scope and manage the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. Lead planning, scheduling, resourcing, and administrative tasks associated with project management.
Customer Interaction: Act as the primary on-site point of contact for our data center customers, communicate effectively to understand their requirements and expectations. Provide regular updates and manage expectations throughout the installation process.
Technical Oversight: Ensure technical integrity and quality of the systems designed and installed. Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Safety Compliance: Identify and adhere to all safety protocols on site to ensure safe working practices everyday all day.
Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets. Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality.
Documentation and Reporting: Ensure all project documentation is accurate and maintained. Prepare, monitor, and present detailed project reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders. Assess results to goals.
Continuous Improvement: Analyze project outcomes and processes to identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices and lessons learned into future projects.
Quality Standard: Work closely with Quality departments both internally and externally to maintain a high-quality installation.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer, specifically in on-site commissioning and installation of mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Strong background in modular data center environments is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient in technical software, including CAD and project management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams.
  • Ability to travel to various data center sites as required.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
