The Role
We are looking for exceptional DevOps engineers with a passion for quality, efficiency, and reliability to help us accelerate and innovate in this exciting and critical space. Our team believes in extreme ownership where we manage the infrastructure, code, automation, and operations for our applications. As a staff engineer, you’ll be designing, building, and supporting the cloud applications and infrastructure to support the control and data planes for millions of vehicles on a global scale. You will work with the embedded vehicle teams to build the services and client experiences necessary to manage all vehicle data collection.
What you’ll do in this role:
- Design and build secure, reliable, and scalable compute clusters and databases to manage data collection on millions of vehicles
- Secure and route user experiences to enable teams to manage vehicle data collection efforts in the field
- Develop automation to deliver applications at a high level of quality
- Instrument, monitor, and operate applications globally in a manner which maximizes application availability
- Participate in on-call rotation to support your team’s applications
- Participate in mentorship programs to help grow the team from your experiences
- 8+ years of experience in cloud application infrastructure, deployment, and operations
Qualifications:
- Experience building and operating enterprise Azure cloud environments
- Experience building scalable and reliable clusters
- Experience managing network traffic and keeping global APIs available
- Ability to work well cross-functionally, and navigate through ambiguity
- Ability to think rigorously, evaluate tradeoffs, and make challenging decisions
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science/Engineering preferred

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at the Mountain View Technical Center - Mountain CA at least three times per week minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington
- Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $186,200 - $285,300 Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
