Position Summary:

The Tech Intelligence role will be responsible for researching and developing collaborations with external innovations in consumer health technology and formulating strategies to deliver innovative solutions through Samsung’s device ecosystem.

The Digital Health Team combines the best of Samsung product expertise with the latest advances in technology to create radically futuristic and innovative products, services and experiences to delight and improve the lifestyles of our customers.  We research, identify, partner and promote new technologies that make the consumer experience better, faster, seamless, more powerful, and multi-dimensional across different product categories.

In this role, you will research the latest advances in the digital health domain across the health value chain and navigate across startups, universities, VCs, health technology incubators and accelerators, and the broader health ecosystem to create a pipeline of new product concepts for our digital health R&D teams.  With an aim towards advancing Samsung’s consumer health offerings across smartphones, wearables, TVs, and more, you will develop business cases, foster partnerships with startups & universities, and drive pivotal initiatives that increase Samsung’s differentiation in the space.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate domain expertise in digital health and conduct ongoing research on market & technology trends, academic literatures/journals and university research to influence R&D focus and generate key insights to explore strategic research directions and initiatives.
  • Navigate the various advances in the core technology for consumer digital health including, but not limited to wearables, digital biomarkers, biosensors, AI/ML, LLMs and Generative AI, health devices, diagnostics and testing, and more that may be used for wellness and prevention as well detection, classification, and intervention for various health conditions.
  • Foster relationships with external technology companies, health institutes, and universities to find breakthrough innovations and effectively communicate their value proposition to internal stakeholders and help build relationship for future collaboration.
  • Inform and identify new areas of research and collect 1st-hand information, summarize and publish technology sensing/insights reports and presentations, and communicate persuasively on emerging technologies, innovative product concepts and new opportunities.
  • Be the primary liaison between partners and Samsung by leading discussions, facilitating evaluations, and driving POCs.
  • Proactively validate concepts and test feasibility of technology that translates to new consumer experiences and products through partners collaboration.

Required Skills:

  • MS, PhD or MBA degree; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the Digital Health domain (in a strategy, product development, product management, or other related roles in a technology company or as an analyst or investor in Digital Health)
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Have a working knowledge of the healthcare industry and experience curating, analyzing, and generating healthcare and wellness reports
  • Strong personal network within the industry, startup and ventures community
  • Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills, experienced in producing highly effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment
