We are growing our Retail Bank data program management team in order to support our mission to become the real-time, intelligent Bank of the future. We’re looking for Program Management Office (PMO) team members who can help organize and inspire an organization of over 150 experienced and dedicated data professionals including Data Scientists, Analysts, Product Managers, Project and Process Managers, and Executive Support.

As a Manager, Data Project Management at Capital One, you will drive strategy and execute on high priority projects for Retail Bank’s Data, Decisions, and AI team. You will work with smart and passionate people to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You will take on important and exciting responsibility from day one, working with key data and AI stakeholders across the company. The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, highly collaborative, experienced chief of staff or program manager who is deeply interested in data and AI inside and outside the financial industry, and can confidently quarterback the development and implementation strategy. Possessing strong analytical, problem solving, consultative, and conceptual thinking abilities, you will work with leaders in the space to develop objectives and key results for Retail Bank Data. Your ability to create effective strategic decks and email communications is essential to this role. This position will be in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment where you will be handling multiple concurrent projects with VP+ stakeholders. 

What you’ll do:  

• Provide program and strategy support to our executive and senior leadership within our Data, Decisions, and AI team

• Drive current and future strategy by leveraging your analytical and communications skills across our Bank teams who turn data insights into effortless customer experiences 

• Be a champion of data culture in the Bank, and manage programs to reward and celebrate data modernization success stories

 

General Responsibilities:

• Leading moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and direct reports.

• Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements

• Ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time.

• Leveraging problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent

• Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

• Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

• Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts

• Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.

• Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style

• Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

• At least 5 Years of Project Management experience

• At least 1 Year of People Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree

• 7+ years of Project Management experience

• 3+ years of People Management experience

• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
