Pendulum™ is on a mission to improve physical and mental health by creating a new category of products that target the microbiome. Position OverviewWe are seeking a Staff Data Architect to join our growing Data and Analytics Team. Reporting to the VP of Software, you will be part of a dynamic environment within our data delivery function, helping internal clients solve complex business problems with data and delivering on self service dashboards, analytics products, and ad-hoc training & support. We seek someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and developing architectures that support them through data visualization, researching and providing actionable value within our organization, and managing multiple department-facing data access and reporting environments.

Responsibilities

  • The Staff Data Architect will bridge the gap between the business analytics needs of our departments and our internally managed cloud analytics platforms.
  • Architect and support our analytics platform, servicing departments through their data-driven journey and delivering measurable business value through dashboard development, ad-hoc data requests, training support in access tooling, ongoing user/content/security administration, and robust technical documentation. 
  • Design and implement enterprise data architecture that includes data components needed to build and deliver business solutions to include: Data Pipelines, Real-time analytics, Cloud Computing, Streaming Data, AI & ML, APIs, and Cloud storage (i.e. Data Lake and Cloud SQL.)
  • Perform (ad-hoc) data analysis tasks such as building visualizations, identifying trends, and making recommendations to customers based on findings using Tableau and SQL
  • Work closely with Enterprise Architect & Marketing Strategist roles to translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data flows, integrations, transformations, databases, data warehouses, and Data Lakes.
  • Develop diagrams representing key data entities and their relationships.
  • Assist in the development of data structures, views, and database components in support of BI solution development.
  • Assist in defining the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, and master data.
  • Ensure BI data, architecture, UI/UX designs meet the overall needs of the enterprise.
  • Guide the development, testing and implementation of Data Warehouse/Data Lake assets to support BI reports, dashboards, and BI solutions.
  • Ensure projects are executed within agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC.)
  • Guide the implementation of data solutions for self-service analytics.
  • Develop (or improve existing) client-facing dashboards and templates 
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders - presenting through strong written and verbal communication that resonates with audiences
  • Support requirements gathering - including new data insights requests and ongoing project check-ins
  • Work with IT management in the development of 3-5-year Enterprise Data roadmap.
  • Participates in the formulation of development procedures, standards, deployment/retirement and archiving as related to the data architecture, tools and applications.
  • Support interactive Tableau training programs focused on reporting tool proficiency, data visualization best practices, and end-user data training and enablement
  • Troubleshoot and support resolution of support tickets & data issues related to dashboard functionality and data accuracy
  • Maintain multiple data delivery environments focused on best practices in user permissions, data security, and content organization
