Arlington County's Department of Technology Services (DTS) is hiring an experienced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Specialist to be part of its' Enterprise Applications Division. This position will be responsible for providing expert level professional work to ensure that the County’s Oracle Cloud-based system for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), PRISM+, meets the requirements of County users by developing solutions which ensure the successful implementation of system enhancements and streamlining business processes and workflows.
The ERP Specialist will work in a collaborative environment for DTS while functioning in an embedded relationship with the Department of Management and Finance supporting the day-to-day requirements of all users. The work involves managing complex, integrated projects ensuring that modules in the PRISM+ system function efficiently and effectively. These modules represent General Ledger, Budgetary Control, Accounts Payable, Account Receivables, Purchasing, Procurement, Contracts, Sourcing, Supplier portal, Expenses, Fixed Assets, Cash Management and Enterprise Performance Management (Budgeting and Narrative Reporting).
Specific duties include:
- Leads the design, implementation and ongoing management of Oracle Fusion modules to ensure they meet the County’s operational and reporting requirements;
- Collaborates with departmental staff, Oracle, and other stakeholders to develop strategies, implement new functionalities and improve existing processes within PRISM+;
- Manages Oracle Cloud configuration requirements for ERP integrations with other applications and services;
- Facilitates the integration of Oracle Cloud Fusion modules with other enterprise systems and third-party applications to ensure seamless data flow and reporting capabilities;
- Oversees Oracle Cloud Fusion upgrades and patches, including testing and deployment in coordination with Oracle's release schedule;
- Works with Oracle and software vendors to maintain awareness of next generation system goals and production;
- Monitors system performance, conducts regular audits, and provides recommendations for improvements to achieve efficiency and accuracy in assigned functional area; and
- Learns new modules, functionalities and technologies required.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- An in-depth knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud functionality and the ability to analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, develop and design functional and technical solutions, develop and document testing and implementation of solutions, and write specifications for a variety of the most complex projects;
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
- Ability to relate the product functionality to business processes, and thus offer implementation advice to customers on how to meet their business needs;
- Proven experience developing innovative ways to improve the process of delivering solutions to customers; and
- Ability to comfortably collaborate with a diverse group, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Minimums:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field;
- Significant and progressively responsible experience implementing, configuring, and supporting Oracle Cloud Applications in ERP modules (General Ledger, Budgetary Control, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Account Receivable, Account Payables, Expenses, iProcurement, Purchasing, Sourcing, Supplier Portal, Contracts); and
- Technical Skills: Experience in working with tools OTBI, BI Publisher, OIC, Visual Builder Studio, VBCS, Financial Reporting Studio (FRS), SmartView, BPM Worklist, ADFDI, FBDI, HDL, SOAP, REST Apls, SQL, XML, ATP, FTP, and SQL.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
Desirables: Preference may be given with experience in one or more of the following:
- Experience in the public sector;
- Oracle Cloud Certification in one or more relevant modules; and/or
- Technical Skills: Experience in working with tools SplashBI, PowerBI, Webservices, WebADI, OAF, ADF, Unix Shell Scripts, Java, test automation (Opkey), and APEX.
