Summary
Open to the general public, Plumbers and Pipefitters (Local 367) members, and any current Municipal Employees.
This position is represented by the Plumbers & Steamfitters, Local 367, and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

HOURS OF WORK: 4/10s - Monday to Thursday / Tuesday to Friday - 7:00 am to 5:30 pm
LOCATION: 3640 E Tudor Road
Employees who are hired or rehired to Journeyman Certified Plumber at Facility Maintenance shall be placed at step 2 of the PayScale, and advancement to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.

Candidates shall be referred and considered for this position in the order as follows per the Collective Bargaining Agreement:
- Internal candidates currently working under the Plumbers & Steamfitters (Local 367) Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Local union dispatched candidates
- External candidates and other current Municipal employees not covered under this agreement
Examples of duties
Perform all necessary plumbing and heating tasks associated with Facility Maintenance in facilities, pools, and parks throughout the Municipality, including troubleshooting and repairing fixtures, irrigation systems, swimming pools, boilers, gas supply, water supply, and drain systems. Also, includes maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to include monitoring, calibrating, and repairing controls on electronic, pneumatic, and computerized systems. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and five (5) years of journeyman plumber experience, which may include a combination of experience and completion of an apprenticeship or training program in plumbing sufficient to equal five (5) years experience.Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
Satisfactory Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check at time of hire.
Must possess and/or obtain:
- Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License and satisfactory Driving Record at time of hire.
- Alaska Department of Labor Certificate of Fitness - Journeyman Plumber
- Municipality of Anchorage Plumbing License
- Backflow prevention certification and repair

If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon the submission of a current copy of the candidate's Alaska Driver's License, and a current (dated within 30 days from date requested) copy of his/her Department of Motor Vehicle driving record, including a driving record from previous states, if the Alaska Driver's License was first issued within one year prior to application, documenting an acceptable driving history.
