Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. Transcripts must be submitted with your application package. You MUST meet the following requirements: EDUCATION: A. Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. B. Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. AND To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. NOTE: All experience statements (i.e., duties, specialized experience, or occupational assessment questionnaire) copied from this announcement and pasted into your resume will not be considered as a demonstration of your qualifications for this position. Specialized experience may include the following: Proving technical support, guidance, or direction to personnel, units, and/or program management personnel to facilitate environmental regulatory compliance and enhance environmental stewardship. Executing, managing, and coordinating remediation / restoration projects and activities for the management and remedy of real property environmental liabilities. Managing and supporting compliance with NEPA requirements and/or ensuring program, projects, and activities adhere to historic / cultural resource management responsibilities and other environmental mandates for the preservation and protection of natural resources. Conducting regulatory compliance audits, compliance assistance visits, and/or pollution prevention assessments; documenting audit findings, drafting audit reports, assisting with / guiding resolution of non-compliance findings, or mentoring / training other audit personnel. Developing scopes of work/ statements of service, cost estimates, and project schedules; coordinating / monitoring / inspecting work-in-progress, investigating and supporting resolution of hindrances to project execution, supporting the resolution of contract disputes, liaising with stakeholders, participating in meetings and conference calls, review of work plans and other contractor submittals, or executing other project management / COR responsibilities. NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
