We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

A Senior Nuclear Fuel Procurement Specialist is responsible for nuclear fuel procurement related activities required to ensure the efficient, cost-effective, reliable supply of nuclear fuel at Dominion Energy’s nuclear power stations.  This includes evaluation of nuclear fuel markets and suppliers, development and implementation of fuel procurement strategies, and application of the procurement process (e.g., solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, and administration of contracts).  This position is also responsible for developing nuclear fuel price forecasts, nuclear fuel budgets, accounting support, senior management updates, and providing input to regulatory filings.  This position requires knowledge and capability to use analytical tools for evaluating nuclear fuel cost scenarios (including being highly proficient with Excel) and being able to advise management on supply strategy needs based on these analyses.  This position also performs other related duties as requested or assigned..

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Bachelor's degree is required. Disciplines preferred: Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Science, or Mathematics. MBA or other professional certifications preferred

Qualified candidates will possess minimum of seven years of knowledge and experience in a job requiring:   Working knowledge of one or more of the following: procurement practices related to development, evaluation, negotiation, and administration of fuel contracts, or nuclear fuel cycle design, operation, and analysis. Significant application of financial/analytical and spreadsheet skills. The following are also desired: company regulatory fuel/base rate process,  nuclear fuel markets (or other fuel commodities), corporate budgeting, or accounting principles/processes.

 

Working knowledge of procurement practices, policies, and procedures, and/or business/contract law desirable.  Ability to evaluate and administer contracts. Negotiation skills desirable. Demonstrated strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under time pressure with high quality/accuracy. Demonstrated strong analytical ability with previous experience with financial analysis, spreadsheet based analytical model development, forecasting, and statistics. Some experience with simulation and optimization modeling highly preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.

Demonstrated experience and strong desire to develop/improve methods of modeling and ways to present and evaluate data using Office tools (such as Excel Power Pivot, Sharepoint, and Power BI).  Experience with relational databases preferred.  Solid working knowledge of business processes (basic accounting and finance), the nuclear fuel industry, and the regulatory environment. Previous experience with capital budgeting and cash flow analysis and understanding of accounting and finance principals is preferred. Strong team building skills and the ability to work with all levels of management and staff. Ability to represent the company in industry/public forums.
