Sr. Engineer (Platform Operations)

Role Summary:
Business Wire is seeking a passionate Sr. Engineer to join the growing Platform Operations team. You will be part of a team that is responsible for providing technical support across all Business Wire’s SaaS based applications. An ideal candidate is a lifelong learner with a passion for appraising Infrastructure and Application enhancements to continually recommend innovative solutions and service improvements. Candidates should have a solid understanding of Linux systems, Java application technology stacks, networking, and system/networking troubleshooting fundamentals. As part of a small team supporting mission-critical programs within the company, this position provides the candidate with a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in support of our customers.
Responsibilities:
· Install, manage, and provide operational support for on-premises and Cloud-based (AWS) IT infrastructure and applications· Monitor production systems observability tools and manage incidents· Initial troubleshooting to locate root cause of production related issues, solve locally or collaborate with various resolver groups (Development, Database, NetOps, etc.) to address issues· Leverage various tools to provide automated orchestration across a wide array of disciplines, i.e., Infrastructure as Code (IaC)· Take part in scheduled maintenance and cloud migration activities
Skills and Qualifications:
Required
· Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure platforms in a high availability, 24x7 Linux environment· Experience providing end-to-end development of coded/scripted solutions using modern scripting languages for the implementation, configuration, automation, orchestration, and/or maintenance of enterprise-grade technologies (i.e., systems, applications, and services).· 5+ years’ experience:· Tools: Git, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform· Scripting/Programming languages: Python, Bash, or similar· Monitoring/Alerting tools: New Relic, Splunk, Grafana· AWS: CloudFormation, Lambda, Fargate, ECS, EC2, VPC, SQS· Advanced RHEL administration· Experience with web servers, IP networking, DNS, SSL certificates.

What We OfferThe base salary range for this position is $140K to $165K.  Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.  Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
