Pay Rate: $19.00 Hourly
SUMMARY:
The Lead Safety Net Coordinator assists the Clinic and Safety Net Manager in developing and coordinating programs that keep pets in their homes and out of shelters. This role collaborates across departments on intake prevention, manages volunteers, trains Safety Net staff, and builds partnerships with human service and animal welfare organizations to support Peggy Adams’ initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administrative Responsibilities

Assists the Clinic & Safety Net Manager in the development, growth, strategy, implementation, and general operations of Safety Net programs.

Maintains Safety Net program standard operating procedures, protocols, and policies.

Prepares accurate records and reports on Safety Net activities.

Participates in developing Safety Net strategies for a variety of circumstances and projects.

Creates and maintains a calendar of Safety Net activities including event outreach opportunities.

Maintains internal calendars for Safety Net appointments.

Fosters and cultivates relationships with both new and established community partners.

Prepares and maintains list of other resources related to community need, such as mental health, substance abuse, legal, assistance with housing and benefits applications, distribution of health and hygiene supplies, and transportation assistance.

Reviews applications and assists Safety Net clients based on individual situation, pet’s welfare, and shelter’s capacity for care.

Provides empathetic trauma informed support to clients experiencing crisis and escalates urgent concerns appropriately.

Responds timely to client inquiries via all communication channels, coordinating with other departments, as appropriate.

Inventory handling, counting, ordering, restocking, and organizing.

Maintains Peggy’s Pantry inventory of food and supplies.

Collaborates with Pet Resources Coordinators to provide excellent experience for Safety Net clients.

Attends community clinic events with Safety Net team.

Interfaces and cooperates with other departments within Peggy Adams.
