Job Description:

H&E Rentals has an opening for a Technical Accounting Analyst.  The Technical Accounting Analyst responsibilities primarily focus on accounting for leases under ASC 842 and accounting for business combinations under ASC 805.

Job Requirements:

• Perform monthly financial close process, prepare monthly activities including journal entries related to lease expenses and accruals for the lease portfolio

• Perform pre-close analysis and post-close reconciliation on the lease portfolio

• Prepare quarterly disclosure information related to the lease asset portfolio

• Communicate with business partners frequently and provide insight on accounting treatment and financial impact on leasing transactions under ASC 842

• Review new or amended lease agreements in detail and validate all related data within the lease accounting systems

• Evaluate the accounting impact of new, amended and terminated leases

• Perform month end account reconciliations

• Maintain the integrity of data within the lease accounting systems for the lease portfolio

• May provide and/or assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.

• Assist in analyzing transactions to understand business economics/accounting risks, and apply applicable GAAP and SEC guidance and concisely communicate actions needed

• Supporting ongoing acquisitions including preparation of opening balance sheets and support technical accounting matters related to the transaction

• After an acquisition is complete, assist with the integration process as needed

• Assist Director in the management of deal timelines and coordination with integrations and operations

• Prepare and distribute periodic and ad hoc reports in a timely, accurate manner. Design reports utilizing various report writers, Excel, Word, etc.

• Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintain updated documentation and providing recommendations as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in accounting or finance or 7+ years of accounting experience

• Experience with researching and documenting technical accounting matters.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, specifically lease accounting

• Goal oriented with excellent teamwork skills

• Ability to build successful relationships across the organization through collaboration, consensus building and interpersonal effectiveness

• Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines with little supervision

• Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Strong oral and written communicative skills

• Strong Excel and Power Point skills
