Job Overview
The Manager, Asset Protection De-Escalation and Physical Security, ensures the safety and security of the company's retail assets, including stores, employees, customers, and inventory. They promote a safe work environment and protect the company’s bottom line through customer service and safety awareness. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of safety protocols, risk assessment, loss prevention techniques, and asset protection strategies. The Asset Protection Manager, Safety & Physical Security, reports to the Senior Director of Asset Protection and collaborates closely with store managers, security teams, and corporate leadership to develop and implement effective safety and security measures.
What You Will Do
- Oversee and execute Asset Protection Safety Programs at our Flagship Herald Square location
- Attend store rallies and town halls to discuss AP safety initiatives and provide support
- Lead the AP Safety team
- Manage and support immediate response to safety-related incidents in the store
- Identify and address potential safety incidents or disruptions to protect the brand
- Conduct safety audits and vulnerability assessments to identify hazards
- Manage installation and maintenance of security systems, including CCTV cameras and access controls
- Collaborate with colleagues and managers to support well-being and follow-up on Employee Assistance Program (EAP) needs
- Complete incident reports for safety-related issues
- Analyze safety data and develop strategies, coverage, and mitigation tactics
- Learn about and communicate emerging trends and best practices to teams to mitigate vulnerabilities
- Collaborate with Law Enforcement Liaison and Community Manager on safety and physical security strategies
- Provide weekly safety reports to senior leadership and outline action steps to reduce incidents
- Participate in monthly store safety meetings
- Train store employees on safety protocols and emergency procedures with Operations
- Support ongoing de-escalation training
- Patrol high-traffic entrances and departments to prevent and detect safety concerns
- Use safety and incident reporting to analyze trends and develop strategies
- Maintain communication via two-way devices with Asset Protection Detectives, Management, and colleagues
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies on apprehensions, searches, and evidence preservation
- Handle proprietary, sensitive, and confidential information responsibly
- Prepare reports on safety incidents
- Build and maintain partnerships with store colleagues and external groups like law enforcement
- Facilitate first aid for customers and colleagues
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
- Perform other assigned responsibilities
Skills You Will Need
Safety Protocols: Understanding and implementing safety standards and protocols relevant to retail environments.
Asset Protection Strategies: Developing and executing strategies to safeguard retail assets including stores, employees, customers, and inventory.
Leadership: Leading and managing a team responsible for safety initiatives, incident response, and ongoing training.
Emergency Response: Skills in immediate response to safety-related incidents, including effective coordination and resolution.
Data Analysis: Analyzing safety data to identify trends, formulate strategies, and improve safety measures.
Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate with store managers, security teams, and corporate leadership, as well as to communicate safety protocols to store employees.
Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to company policies and legal regulations regarding safety, security, and incident handling.
Confidentiality: Handling sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
