Duties, Responsibilities & Other
We are hiring a Senior Survey Project Manager to join our team in Columbia, SC!
- Candidates should possess a passion for building client relationships, marketing engineering and surveying services and an ability to manage staff.
- Planning, directing, and coordinating operations, including project managers, staff surveyors, technicians, and field operations.
- Manage master contracts including fee estimation, project set-up, and execution of work.
- Prepare work plans, assemble project teams, delegate tasks and ensure compliance with scope and timely completion.
- Prepare client invoices, deliverables, and project-related correspondence.
- Responsible for accuracy, timeliness and financial performance of assigned projects.
- Business Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients.
- Ability to prepare proposals, cost estimates, plats, legal descriptions and sketches, roadway databases, topographic surveys, compute survey data, etc.
- Assist in documenting the performance of project team members through completion of Project Staff Reviews.
- Communicating significant performance issues to team members and Practice Leader so that appropriate action may be taken.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates strongly preferred to be a SC Licensed Professional Land Surveyor. Other State survey registrations a plus
- North Carolina Department of Transportation experience.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
- Experience in Trimble Business Center, Microstation, Geopack, and OpenRoads software preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 9 - 14 years of professional experience.
- Appropriate professional certification preferred.
- Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
Performance Expectations
- Complete Annual Individual Training Program
- Mentor and train staff
- Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
- Develop and maintain customer relationships by soliciting monthly performance feedback, identifying client needs, and identifying the next project
- Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
- Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
- Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required
- Complete other duties as required/assigned
- Provide input to develop project-specific safety plans and implement project safety plans and ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local safety rules and regulations
- Report monthly proposal results to operations manager
- Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(75%-80% typical)
- Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary)
