The City of Norfolk’s Parking Division is an enterprise fund, which falls under the Department of General Services. The Parking Division operates over 19,000 public parking spaces located in 14 garages, 10 lots, and more than 500 on street metered parking spaces.
Performs billing and collections duties and posts fees for customers. Provides directions and information to patrons. Generates cash receipts, reconciles accounts and maintains accounts receivable. Performs administrative duties and provides assistance as needed.
Examples of duties
Essential functions include but are not limited to:- Collect fees and provides assistance to customers by operating a cash computerized terminal, calculating hourly rates for patrons, generating receipts, verifying validations, completing insufficient funds and lost ticket forms, giving directions to patrons, answering questions, reporting emergencies and completing accident reports.
- Performs financial duties by completing reports, reporting fees collected and balancing with a computer printout.
- Perform administrative duties by processing payments, assisting with promotions, handling mail, writing correspondence, collecting information from various publications and placing them in scrapbook, updating new books and information in the system and sending out late notices and providing assistance as needed.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Qualifications
Required:- Six months related experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
Supplemental information
- 19 1/2 hours per week. Work hours may change seasonally.
