Summary
Regis College seeks a full-time, 9-month Undergraduate Program Director for its undergraduate
level Education programs located in the School of Arts and Sciences.
The Program Director reports to the Education Department Chair.
Responsibilities
- Direct supervision of all four (4) undergraduate licensed programs and one (1) undergraduate non-licensed program as well as faculty within those programs,
- Assessment of all curriculum and faculty in each of the four (4) licensed programs and one (1) non-licensed program,
- Coordination of all aspects of curriculum design, implementation, and assessment of all four (4) programs based on current DESE regulations,
- Course scheduling, staffing, and faculty/staff course load
- Assist with outreach to education partners and the creation of new partnerships to meet DESE requirements,
- Collaborate with Field Placement Coordinator to ensure appropriate placement of all undergraduate and master’s level candidates in pre-practica and practica, per DESE regulations,
- Coordination, preparation, and writing of re-accreditation reports for all four (4) licensed programs, as well as internal end of the academic year reports (PARS)
- Advisement of all, licensed and non-licensure, undergraduate students,
- Overseeing scheduling of MTEL tutorial courses and monitoring the taking and passing of all required exams based on licensure requirements,
- All roles and responsibilities associated with a full-time faculty appointment including teaching eight (8) courses per academic year, scholarship, and service to the Department, Programs, School, and Institution,
- Collaboration with the master’s level Program Director to enhance a direct line into the Special Education master’s program to support the 4+1 program,
- Collaboration with other departments for cross-discipline courses; specifically within the required dual majors to ensure licensure content is represented,
- Creating new, cutting-edge programs (degree and certificate) to put us in direct alignment with our competition, and
- Serve as the counselor to the Regis chapter of Kappa Delta Pi chapter
Qualifications
Qualified Candidates Must Possess
- A minimum of a master’s degree in elementary or early childhood education, in addition to being license in either Elementary or Early Childhood Education in the state of Massachusetts.
- Ability to positively interact with a diverse population and uphold the University’s commitment to inclusive excellence.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure regulations, including the new revisions to both the SMK and PST, as well as reporting requirements to appropriate agencies,
- Excellent administrative/organizational abilities,
- 3-5 years teaching and administrative experience in teacher education,
- Record of innovation, leadership, and application of best practices in teacher education, as well as contributions to teacher education through grant writing and program review participation, and
- Demonstrated evidence of the use of instructional technology.
