Summary:
The Forklift Driver plays a critical role in the efficient operation of Daiso USA’s distribution and warehouse facilities. This position is responsible for the safe and accurate operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, move, and stack merchandise. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment while meeting productivity standards.

Essential Job Functions:

Material Handling (60%)

• Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks (PIT) to load and unload products and materials.

• Transport merchandise to designated areas within the warehouse or distribution center.

• Stack and organize pallets in accordance with inventory procedures and space optimization.

• Safely load and unload trailers, containers, and delivery vehicles as needed.

• Ensure all materials are handled without damage and follow proper procedures for fragile or hazardous items.

• Perform daily forklift inspections and report any issues or needed maintenance promptly.

Inventory & Order Fulfillment (20%)

• Support inventory management by moving and organizing product based on replenishment needs.

• Assist in picking, packing, and staging outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

• Use RF scanners or warehouse management systems to track product movement and inventory status.

Safety & Compliance (15%)

• Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and company policies related to equipment operation and warehouse safety.

• Participate in safety meetings, training, and other required programs.

• Maintain clean and organized work areas to prevent accidents and ensure operational efficiency.

General Warehouse Support (5%)

• Assist with general warehouse tasks including sweeping, trash removal, and light maintenance when needed.

• Collaborate with other warehouse team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and team success.

Equipment Used:

• Sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts

• Pallet jacks (manual and electric)

• RF scanners

• Warehouse management software

• Safety and protective gear

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

• Must have a valid forklift operator certification or be willing to obtain one upon hire

• Regularly required to lift/move items up to 50 lbs.

• Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods

• May require weekend or evening shifts depending on business needs

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• 1–2 years of experience operating forklifts or similar equipment in a warehouse or distribution setting

• Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and RF scanning systems

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
