The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Flight Engineering Senior Manager (Level L) to support our Flight Sciences Aerodynamic Performance team based in Everett, Washington.
Position Overview:
As a senior manager, you will manage a talented group of engineers and first-level managers, driving excellence in Aerodynamic Performance which includes teams supporting performance certification, AFM, FMC, performance tools development, fleet support, operational performance, competitive analyses, NAMS and guarantee development. You will be responsible for developing and executing integrated departmental strategies, overseeing technical approaches, and fostering strong partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and suppliers. Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Flight Engineering as a BCA Aerodynamic Performance Senior Manager.
Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives for Aerodynamic Performance.
Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
3+ years of experience as a Manager leading engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
Master’s degree or higher in Engineering - Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in an engineering leadership related role.
Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values
Extensive experience managing engineering teams and first-level managers in aerodynamics or related aerospace disciplines.
Experience in developing and executing departmental plans, policies, and technical strategies.
Strong expertise in Aerodynamic Performance analyses and tools, performance certification, performance guarantee processes, technical performance measures development, flight testing for aerodynamic performance, downstream utilization of aerodynamic performance parameters and data.
Demonstrated ability to manage partner relationships and lead technical process improvements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Experience providing technical oversight and approval of engineering products and processes.
Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.
