The Opportunity
As the Senior Level Food Technologist position you will work on the development of primarily Ready-to-Drink items, along with ready-to-eat items, powders, and tablets & capsules from concept through execution. This permanent position will report to the R&D Manager.
- New Product Development: Formulate and Develop Ready To Drink Beverages along with Ready to Mix Powders, and Ready to Eat products.
- Develop formulas from concept briefs and create flavor prototypes.
- Organizes sensory panels. Refines formulations until desired characteristics are achieved.
- Oversees/Conducts pilot plant experiments and scale-up manufacturing runs.
- Initiates raw material and factory trial analytical testing.
- Documents all formulations, variables tested, product stability, and other pertinent details and enters into lab notebooks and Formula Management System.
- Works with Regulatory to generate compliant Supplement/Nutrition facts panels and ingredient listings for product packaging/artwork and proofreads for accuracy.
- Works with key suppliers and purchasing team to keep abreast of upcoming trends, novel ingredients, and new application ideas.
- Works with cross functional team members to drive concept inception to commercialized finished products.
- Role may include 15-30% travel based on projects and necessity.
The Skills you will bring to the team
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or STEM base degree with 7+ years food industry experience.
- Advanced knowledge in Ready-To-Drink formats, and knowledge of Powders and RTE
- Knowledge of commercialization development processes with a history of RTD application commercialization.
- Knowledge and application of flavor systems, and ingredient interactions in beverage matrices.
- Strong understanding of Beverage processing technologies and impact on formula design.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as nutritional software.
- Detail oriented, well organized, and follows GMP lab and factory guidelines.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
