About the role

Provide strategic support to the Chief Customer Officer and work across the respective leadership team to manage prioritization process for all initiatives to drive commercial performance objectives. Drives high priority initiatives ensuring seamless execution across cross-functional teams. 

You must have a strong background with a global consulting STRATEGY company for consideration. 

  1. Manage and execute strategic projects as delegated by the Chief Customer Officer 
  2. Manage planning and prioritization process for all initiatives to drive performance objectives.
  3. Collect functional plans from MLT to build and maintain the master commercial execution plan. 
  4. Develop recommendations and troubleshoot key issues to assist the MLT in solving for critical business areas (bold moves)
  5. Drive development of Board presentations on behalf of the Chief Customer Officer 
  6. Work with the internal communications team to manage the Chief Customer Officer’s internal and external communications activities and development of an internal and external engagement calendar.
  7. Act as a liaison for external bodies in relation to the Chief Customer Officer’s external appointments/speeches.
  8. Integrate and assimilate information and carry out analysis of information for the Chief Customer Officer
  9. Assist the Chief Customer Officer with the planning, preparation, delivery, and follow ups for key meetings, agendas, presentations and reports. This may include preparing content for IHG Owners Association, IHG Board, Executive Committee, industry meetings, investor meetings, conferences, and association boards.
  10. Determine key performance indicators and how to measure team performance.
  11. Attract, retain and develop team by providing strategic direction, thoughtful feedback and development opportunities to grow, steward and advance talent.

Educational Attainment:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, Strategy or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

Critical Expertise & Experience:

  • 10+ years in progressive work experience in strategy, consultancy, business development, or finance, or 8 -10 years corporate level experience with exposure to a broad range of business development or growth activity. Post-degree qualification and previous travel industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and understand a variety of internal and external economic and financial issues with impact to the business, to analyze data &   forecast future business trends, and to develop strategic plans based on business needs and market assessments.
  • Proven strategic thinking through an ability to analyze markets, performance data, and complex business issues and draw insight/conclusions (balancing need for both traditional outputs with unconventional thinking and innovation

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to create executive level presentations. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business drivers and the ability to turn data into insights and key messages.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking with a proven ability to analyze performance data and business issues and draw insight and conclusions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a complex matrix environment.
  • Strong influencing, consensus building and analytical skills.
    • Demonstrated understanding of the social and political process within an organisation, and an understanding of how to gain agreement in a matrix environment. 
    • Ability to deal with ambiguity

Owns:

  • Delivery of key strategic, complex projects across the Function
  • Maintenance of Function
  • Development of Board presentations 
  • Delivery of regional leadership processes and meetings
  • Responsible for prioritisation of specific CCO project requests to ensure alignment with overall IHG priorities.

Influences:

  • Presentation materials for forums such as the ROC, IHG Owners Association, IHG Board, Executive Committee, industry meetings, investor meetings, conferences, and association boards 
  • Functional calendar 
  • CCO agenda and meetings 
  • CCO speeches, presentations and reports
