Job Description

The Senior Manager, Evaluation, reporting to the Director of Data Systems and Evaluation, is responsible for guiding Help Me Grow leadership in setting data-driven strategy, as well as for leading evaluation of the Help Me Grow Washington network. Our Data Systems and Evaluation Team provides technological and evaluation infrastructure to WithinReach and the Help Me Grow Washington network. Your strong relationship-building and facilitation skills as well as your ability to hold both the high-level strategic view and the day to day details of each program will enable other leaders to learn how to effectively use data as they design initiatives and programs. Your experience developing automated of reports and dashboards will bring our evaluation capacity to a new level by reducing the time spent doing repetitive reporting. 

The Senior Manager is a member of the Program Leadership Team and is responsible for contributing to the organization's strategic objectives.  

Responsibilities 

Enhance efficiency of data analysis and reporting 

• Lead efforts to automate routine reporting, improve QA/QI tools, and data dashboards
• Streamline data cleaning and analysis processes, involving cleaning and integrating data across several platforms 

Lead evaluation design & implementation 

• Operationalize and steward the use of the Targeted Universalism framework in Help Me Grow strategic plan implementation
• Evaluation planning for Help Me Grow Washington to assess network development, collective impact, and quality improvement opportunities
• Support program leadership to understand evaluation results and ensure data-driven strategy 
• Coordinate between program managers and directors and external funders/partners to design and implement evaluations, and offer consultation on their evaluation projects 
• Design and conduct evaluations using a variety of evaluation methods including surveys, interviews, focus groups, secondary data analysis, literature reviews, etc.  

Leadership & Supervision 

• Develop and manage high level evaluation roadmap and detailed project workplans 
• Ensure project milestone adherence and completion  
• Advise Data Systems and Evaluation Director on staffing and resources needed to meet goals and deliverables. 
• Provide feedback and guidance to consultants and direct reports 
• Guide staff on appropriate data cleaning and analysis methods including analysis and reporting at multiple levels (aggregate, disaggregate, etc.) 
• Train and mentor staff and partners to play supporting roles in evaluation projects 

Project Management 

• Track and oversee fulfillment of data requests – both expected (e.g. routine reporting to funders & partners) and unanticipated (e.g. grant applications) 
• Independently manage projects and timelines to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time 
• Develop orientation materials and serve as resident expert on Help Me Grow network reporting requirements including annual fidelity assessment 
• Willingness to dive into the intricate details of challenging tasks to meet project milestones when necessary 

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in quantitative and qualitative data management and analysis Demonstrated ability to independently manage and analyze data using R or SPSS software
• Experience building automated data dashboards using Domo a
