Work Arrangement -
On-site. Toledo GPS. This position requires employee on-site on a full-time basis.
The Role
The selected employee will be overseeing the implementation of Legacy Progams (GF9/ AB1V) and supporting as needed on the Electric Drive Unit Program implementation in Toledo Propulsion Systems. All these programs are key for GM's near future. On one side, with the Electrification implementation and on the other, providing and solid base with ICE programs to fund it.
The selected candidate will be assigning work and removing roadblocks for a small group of engineers.
Respectful communication and people skills are essential as he will be interfacing and presenting plans to the Plant Leadership and collaboration and "One Team" approach are essential.
What you'll do
- Coordinate key milestones and events with the Plant Operations team. Specifically regarding AB1V new program implementation. MRO/In-House MRO's/ PPAP readiness reviews and PPAP coordination support. (Need to use tools and checklist required to track and implement these milestones)
- Coordinate Launch Deliverable review and tracking with the Plant Operations Teams. AB1V programs / GF9
- Coordinate a group of Engineers to drive Launch Deliverable closure on Legacy Programs.
- Define and determine resources OEM's/GM needed to close LD for legacy programs.
- Validate error proofing plan and update PFMEA’s.
- Update Execution Manager with the current equipment installation, runoff, and PPAP status.
- Lead the lessons learned gathering activity and feedback the information to Process engineer for BOE/BOP updates.
- Supports plant floor equipment installation.
- Supports plant floor debug and runoff.
- Supports and teach the team on g-Comply. Red tag, Yellow tag, and Green tag sign off activities.
- Establishes equipment installation/Agile tracking methodologies and review weekly/daily with OEM and contactor.
- Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of the Launch Deliverables to the final customer.
- Supports Drive Unit Implementation as needed without compromising performance on Legacy Programs. Need to discuss with Manager on support possibilities based on workload
Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities- 5+ years of professional experience in manufacturing or manufacturing engineering.
- Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes required to support automatic transmission and drive unit implementation. Gears/ Prismatics (Aluminum machining) /Assembly.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (GMS)
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience

- Demonstrated experience running operations or maintenance in previous roles. This will allow you to understand the primary customer perspective and deliver better processes for the end customer.
