Part-Time Seasonal Janitorial (PM Shift)

This position is located at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in San Luis Obispo, CA!

Purpose for the Position: 

To clean the public areas and exterior of the hotel and keep them in an orderly condition.

Essential Responsibilities: 

1. Mows lawns, trims shrubbery, and cultivates flowers using hand tools and power tools.
2. Dusts furniture and equipment.
3. Polishes metalwork and furniture.
4. Collects soiled linens for laundry and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closets. 
5. Cleans bathrooms and replenishes with supplies.
6. May clean swimming pool. 
7. May remove debris, clean driveways, and garage areas.
8. Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and locker rooms and other work areas. 
9. Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines. 
10. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner.
11. Wash walls, windows, door panels, sills, ceilings, and woodwork. 
12. Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays. 
13. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
14.  Required to be always in uniform when working on the property including wearing a name identification badge.
15. Identify and report to supervisor when supplies are needed.
16. Supports and adheres to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company. 
17. All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

Skills and Abilities: 

• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions; lift, bend, stoop, walk, push, or pull heavy equipment, and stand for extended periods of time. Lifting may include equipment or furniture weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor.
• Learn simple procedures and techniques.
• Flexible availability to work any shift/day, including holidays and weekends.
• Comfortable with using a radio to communicate with the front desk and housekeeping supervisors.
• Occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions.
