Job Description

As a Security Officer - Industrial Patrol Driver in Battle Creek, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an industrial manufacturing location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license that meets Allied Universal driver policy requirements. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing deliveries and service providers according to site procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems when assigned, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns to site contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire-related notifications, severe weather events, and/or disputes, and request assistance from emergency services when needed.
  • Complete detailed reports of daily activity, inspections, incidents, and irregularities using required written and/or electronic reporting methods.
  • Support traffic flow and pedestrian movement during shift changes, contractor check-ins, and delivery arrivals to help to reduce congestion at gates and loading areas.
  • Perform screening and/or package checks as directed by site policies, while maintaining a professional, respectful interaction with all persons.
  • Communicate clearly with site management and Allied Universal supervision regarding post orders, staffing needs, and/or changing site conditions.
  • Maintain control of keys, access cards, and other issued equipment according to site procedures, and promptly report lost, damaged, and/or malfunctioning items.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
