Shipping Clerk - Receiving

 

Material Handlers are responsible for the transportation of material components and finished goods throughout the facility to support the needs of production, as well as internal and external customers.  This role will principally support activities in the Receiving area. 

 

Principal Accountabilities: 

• Receive incoming materials from our suppliers, vendors, or carriers  

• Unload shipments from delivery trucks 

• Reconcile packing list to quantity delivered to purchase order 

• Arrange for quality holds and incoming inspection as appropriate  

• Research and resolve problems 

• Finalize SAP transactions 

• Transact and move items from the dock to the raw material storage location 

• Follow FIFO and KanBan requirements 

• Work safely while performing job duties and maintain 5S standards 

• Other duties as required 

Education and Experience/Skills 

• Strong computer skills 

• Knowledge of inventory transactions and ability to research and resolve problems 

• Knowledge of and ability to use SAP software 

• High School graduate or GED, preferred 

 

Must be able to:  

• Work with a high degree of accuracy and with attention to detail 

• Work independently, make decisions, communicate with others 

• Operate power driven equipment (forklift, tugger, floor sweeper, scissors lift).  

• Operate a handheld scanner and use an electronic scale.  

• Lift, bend and reach, including below waist level and above shoulder level 

• Lift, push and pull weights of up to 15lbs frequently and up to 50lbs. occasionally 

• Use hands to manipulate parts 

• Use vision to read labels and inventory sheets
