Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field in hand by appointment date.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong research experience in organic synthesis and separation science.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator Dr. Hyowon Seo in the department of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering. The incumbent will conduct fundamental research on molecular and materials-based approaches to chemical separation, with emphasis on designing, preparing, and evaluating functional systems for selective separations. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.
Duties:
● Planning and executing laboratory experiments.
● Analyzing and interpreting experimental data and maintaining accurate research records.
● Assisting with laboratory organization and safety compliance.
● Contributing to research reports, presentations, manuscripts, and proposals.
● Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
