Teaching
Provide instructional support in pre-clinical and laboratory sessions.
Evaluate student work according to established rubrics.
Foster a positive and interactive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
Maintain current educational methodology professional development.
Clinical Education
Provide hands-on clinical supervision and education to dental hygiene students during patient care procedures.
Ensure compliance with established protocols and ethical standards in the clinical setting.
Offer constructive feedback to students to enhance their clinical skills and professionalism.
Evaluate student work according to established rubrics.
Foster a patient-centered, team oriented learning environment.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required
Associate degree in dental hygiene AND a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene or related field OR Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene.
Current Ohio licensure as a dental hygienist.
Meets OSDB requirements to administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation.
Desired
Graduate degree in dental hygiene or related field.
Experience in dental hygiene education.
Strong clinical experience in dental hygiene practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
Active involvement in professional organizations and commitment to continued professional development.
This is a .5 FTE hire (20 hours/week), in a 9/12 faculty position within the College of Dentistry, starting Autumn semester 2025 through spring semester 2026.
