Landis+Gyr is looking for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer as we move to a cloud centric model for our global technology environment. We are looking for a motivated candidate with experience ensuring cloud environments have proper security designed and implemented, with a focus on working with the Google Cloud Platform.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Ensures proper security visibility and protections are in place and active with the companies’ cloud environments.

• Learn and adopt new tools and techniques to increase security within the cloud environments.

• Mentor other team members in cloud security methods, tools, and processes.

• Understand business goals and drivers and work with IT, Architecture, and the business to deliver security solutions within the cloud.

• Provide technical direction and oversight to cloud implementation teams to improve and assist in the documentation of identified GAPs in security processes and assist with assessing gaps.

• Implement and enforce proper security configurations within CI/CD pipelines (CICD, Jenkins)

• Conduct vulnerability management and remediation efforts in cloud workloads and CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Architecture, DevSecOps, Application Security, and Infrastructure) to ensure secure design and implementation of solutions.

• Assist in aligning on prem and cloud security processes, tools, and teams.

 

Education & Experience:

 

• 2-4 years’ experience working with or having responsibility for cloud security.

• 4+ years of experience with cyber security concepts and practices

• 5+ years’ experience working in or with Information Technology.

• BA/BS Degree, preferably formal studies in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent education/experience

• Ability to work additional hours, which may include mornings, evenings and weekends if needed; ability to travel 5% of the time.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

• Broad information cybersecurity knowledge, including familiarity with common security methodologies, tactics, and protocols.

• Expertise with cloud ecosystems and leading-edge cloud emerging technologies.

• Exposure to serverless security, data loss prevention (DLP), and cloud-native security posture management (CSPM) tools.

• Experience with developing or extending custom security tooling (e.g., APIs, dashboards, alerting systems).

• Experience implementing GCP infrastructure, security, and topologies, or other cloud solutions for enterprise.

• Experience managing and optimizing Google Chronicle and other Cloud SIEM platforms to ensure full visibility of cloud and on-prem sources.

• Experience with cloud networking (VPNs, VPCs, Virtual Networking, Firewalls), compute infrastructure (servers, databases, storage, load balancers), and developing/securing virtualized environments.

• Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines utilizing tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab, Etc.

• Experience with Terraform.

• Strong analytical problem-solving ability.

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a project team.

• Experience with regulatory guidelines (SSAE16, NIST, ISO).

• Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail along with sharp analytical skills to identify problems at the network, systems, and application layers.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, coworkers, employees, and upper management.
