Job Description Summary

To assist the Head Swimming Coach in the administration and operation of the swimming program consistent with the policies of Miami University, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and other appropriate governing bodies, i.e., Mid-American Conference, Missouri Valley Conference.

Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Support all areas of the Administration of the Swimming Program:
  • Execution of training program and daily practices within the Miami system as designated by the Head Coach.
  • Support the development and growth of student-athletes with goal meetings, academic advising, individualized training plans and other areas as needed
  • Assist in mentorship of assistant coaches with help of Head Coach
  • Recruiting responsibilities include local club visits, emails and calls with prospective student athletes, and support in official visit
  • Oversee administrative areas based on experience
  • ssist the head coach in conducting the Swimming & Diving Programs in accordance with all NCAA rules and Miami University requirements including all staff meetings, compliance meetings, and administrative requirements set forth by NCAA and Miami University.

Additional duties if Associate Head Coach:

    • Associate Head Coach would have additional responsibilities related to recruiting coordination and leading the team in head coach’s absence.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 1-3 years related experience coaching at the club, high school, or college level.

    Associate Head Coach additional requirement: 

    • 3 or more years related experience at the club, high school, or college level.

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Master's Degree
    • Understanding of the rules and policies of the NCAA
    • Previous college coaching experience
