Job Summary

The Director of Cybersecurity and Technology is responsible for delivering Cybersecurity and Technology Consulting services under the umbrella of Elliott Davis’ overall Digital Practice. This position is responsible for the financial performance (profit/loss) of the Cybersecurity and Technology Consulting groups and growing services 10-15% year over year. As a key leader in the practice, the Director needs to demonstrate the ability to properly handle confidential information as well as adherence to the firm’s mission, vision, and values. The Director will exhibit a strong commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration, guiding the team to deliver innovative solutions that meet our clients evolving needs.

Responsibilities

  • Win (Business Development, Relationship Management): 30%-50% time allocation
    • Collaborate with growth leaders across the firm to support business development efforts by meeting with their clients/prospects, identifying opportunities to serve, and developing and presenting proposals.
    • Maintain good relationships with existing customers with the intent to become their trusted advisor.
    • Maintain good relationships with existing customers with the intent to renew and expand our services.
    • Become a recognized security leader through live speaking engagements and the creation of whitepaper publications.

  • Do (Billable Work, Running the Practice): 30%-50% time allocation
    • Offer and perform fractional Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) services to customers and prospects
    • Perform other billable consulting work as the opportunity arises.
    • Perform quality reviews on customer deliverables.
    • Ensure services are delivered with excellence, on-time and on-budget.
    • Ensure the team effectively communicates the status of projects and deliverables to customers.
    • Work with the centralized billing department to issue customer invoices timely and accurately. Address any customer issues that could impact timely payment of invoices.
    • Develop and manage to an annual Net Revenue and Gross Margin budget.
    • Manage suppliers to achieve optimal value and performance to our customers.

  • Build (New and Changing Services): 10%-20% time allocation
    • Working with the Digital Practice Leader, consider and evaluate new and derivative service offerings.
    • Attract key talent to implement and expand the services.
    • Develop, invest time, and motivate talent to develop a pool of ready-now leaders in the group.
    • Establish relationships with key security product and service suppliers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the practice.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (or related discipline) required, complemented by 15+ years of experience in Information Technology and/or Information Security.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with both internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to all levels within an organization including board level. Able to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience building new products and services.
  • Experience working in multiple industries.
  • Broad understanding and experience of information security methodologies, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Strong financial acumen, including managing annual budgets upwards of $10M.
  • Experience in contract development, key legal principles, and client negotiations.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to take full ownership of client deadlines and needs, including working necessary hours to meet client deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
