Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) has an outstanding opportunity for a Mid-Level Production Integrated Planning & Scheduling (IP&S) Specialist to join the F/A-18 IP&S organization, reporting to the BDS IP&S Production Manager.

This position would have the primary responsibility to lead, develop, coordinate, integrate, analyze, and maintain detailed Master Production Schedule plans for a variety of major production programs.  The candidate will coordinate and communicate the status of and the actions for Master Production Schedule projects for the respective programs.

This position will perform what-if analysis to determine impacts, constraints, and plans involving product development, process improvement, or program initiatives. 

This position requires the MPS to serve as a subject matter expert to management and a special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, processes, plans, and objectives.  The ability to provide analysis and product development initiatives for manufacturing, program, and support organizations will be critical. 

This individual will produce metrics for plans and schedules for moderate to complex projects, programs, and change activities across the lifecycle of programs and projects.

The position may also lead, direct, facilitate, and ensure integration of project/program plans and schedules, horizontally and vertically, across company functional, product groups, suppliers, and partners. 

The candidate must have demonstrated analytical capability and excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with managers and internal/external Boeing customers. The candidate must be proactive and work well within a team environment, possibly as the scheduling lead. Flexibility, initiative, detail orientation, ability to multi-task, and willingness to learn new areas are essential requirements to successfully perform in this dynamic and exciting environment.

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Independently develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains an integrated plan and schedule to meet program and/or project requirements in accordance with project management industry standards.
  • Performs studies, analysis (trend, variance, impact), risk assessments to determine impacts, and constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives.
  • Creates schedule, reports, metrics, change activity, communicates and updates plan regularly throughout lifecycle of program or project.
  • Works to improve project management processes, business systems, and implement best practices that support project decision makers.
  • Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion.
  • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
  • Assists customers to develop performance recovery plan and ensure all project control systems are in place to support ongoing support to stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Identify shop conflicts across various programs and communicate with the shop.
  • Work with the shop to fix clocking issues.
  • Work with IEs to identify possible process improvements
  • Work with other schedulers to coordinate re-fire activities
  • Knowledge of BRAIDSS and E-Visuals.
  • Working shop floor knowledge
  • Ability to work well with multiple teams

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in finance, scheduling, industrial engineering, change management, strategy, program management, or project management role
  • 3+ years of experience in change management, program planning, project management, integrated scheduling, Industrial Engineering, or Business Operations
  • 3+ years of experience in team schedules, resource management, earned value management, risk management, and project management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience using Open Plan Professional
  • Experience using Microsoft Project
  • Experience using Milestone Professional
  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Travel:

The position may require traveling up to 10% of the time.
