Role Summary:

The Workflows Engineering team are recruiting Java Engineers to play a crucial role in our organization. The successful candidates will become part of an engineering team addressing complex challenges and taking these to resolution. This provides a phenomenal opportunity for individuals who enjoy solving a variety of problems and who relish the chance to lead the resolution of exciting and new challenges on a regular basis.

The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues across the organization to build and implement the technical strategy for a set of Engineering Products within our FX group. They will ensure business requirements are applied and lean on their experience of software engineering and development lifecycles to lead change in exciting software challenges and customer solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Demonstrates extensive knowledge of Java technologies, design, development and implementation

• Advances tools and applications by producing expert code and producing the right solutions needed

• Manages own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture, working autonomously

• Is regarded as the point of contact in their domain by showing significant depth of knowledge and expertise in engineering and DevOps

• Understands how the technology / domain strategy relates to and impacts own work, supporting the implementation of strategy within all work.

• Develops an understanding of the market and LSEG's commercial position in it

• Supports design work and planning for Epics breaking them down to stories with product owners and quality leads

• Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions

• Builds positive relationships with internal and external partners, growing own network and collaborating with other teams. Communicates challenging technical information clearly and concisely in an audience appropriate format

• Continues to develop technology and industry expertise through certifications, professional qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

Nice to have:

• Professional qualification or equivalent

• Basic financial understanding of trading systems and financial markets.

• Experience or familiarity with financial messaging protocols - particularly FIX is desirable

Must Have:

• Significant knowledge of at least one programming language (Java is the main requirement but others will be a bonus too)

• Ideally Experience in a minimum of 3 from - SpringBoot REST and Websocket services, Event-driven messaging (Kafka), SQL (Postgressql), Redis, Azure - PaaS (EventHub, AzureSQL, Kubernetes, AzureCache, etc), terraform, helm, GitLab CI - or AWS equivalents.

• Significant experience in a Software development and delivery role
