JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Research Assistant/Associate performs a variety of specialized tasks associated with conducting research projects/experiments; monitors laboratory research procedures and recordings to ensure quality control and compliance. Will primarily be responsible for transporting human blood samples across campus and processing the samples in a laboratory at specific time points.

Job duties include:

• Assist in the execution of research projects, under general direction of senior research personnel and according to standard protocols or research plans; contribute to experiments/tests in the laboratory/field to test, prove, or modify theoretical propositions; collect and process data 
• Contribute by scoring and data input for use in technical reports, documents, proposals, or oral/written presentations  
• Will process human blood samples in a wet lab and will transport the blood samples across campus 
• Coordinate abstraction of patient data from charts in compliance with protocols; assure the collection of subject data based on protocol
