Description

We are open to candidates in Dallas, TX, South San Francisco, CA, Raleigh, NC, and Boston, MA for this role.

As a key member of the Clinical Science Team at Verily, you will serve as a clinical research scientist lead, working with product, engineering, biostatistics, clinical informatics, user experience, and other cross-functional teams to design, build, deploy, and evaluate Verily research products. You will also be part of the broader Clinical Science team. You should be a subject matter expert in clinical medicine and clinical research. You should enjoy and be good at working in a deep and detailed manner with our multidisciplinary teams. You need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous, creative, and technology-oriented environment.

We specifically seek an expert in clinical research, and ideally, with a background in traditional clinical trials, longitudinal population-based research, RWE/HEOR, and decentralized clinical trials (DCT). The successful candidate will be an accomplished scholar in the clinical research space, focused on the design and execution of innovative research solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee our research efforts clinically, including designing and implementing evidence generation programs for research products.
• Sit alongside product to help guide the vision and strategy for the next generation of Verily research products, ensuring a scalable, achievable vision and approach.
• Provide clinical and scientific design guidance to the team during commercial and strategic discussions with pharma and life science partners.
• Serve as our representative on joint steering committees with life science partners to provide insight and guidance.
• Partner with quantitative scientists (biostatisticians, epidemiologists, etc.), clinical informaticists, engineering, and user experience researchers on driving the science and research strategy behind our work. This includes developing protocols, consent plans, statistical analysis plans, novel analysis of clinical endpoints, and incorporating clinical context into these novel findings.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
• Experience designing and executing large clinical trials and/or real world data registries.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate scientifically (including publications and presentations) with excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinker who can connect technology solutions to research opportunities across therapeutic areas when conducting clinical research.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, including ability to handle ambiguity.
• Experience working in health technology/digital health setting.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external cross-functional teams.
• Experience working with complex, technical product offerings and processes involving multiple stakeholders.
• Graduate level degree in clinical research.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $219,000 -$326,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
