About the role

Description

The Joint Staff J6 supports the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) in providing expert military advice and advancing cybersecurity, joint and coalition interoperability, and command and control (C2) capabilities essential for national security. Reporting to the J6 Director, the Deputy Director for Cyber and Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Integration (C5I) leads the evaluation, integration, and analysis of C5 initiatives to support the Joint Force’s future design and operational effectiveness. The Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is central to the DD C5I mission.


The Joint Staff J6 DD C5I encompasses seven divisions responsible for C5 Capability Development, Assessments and Analysis, and Joint Fires Integration. This task order provides support for five divisions: Architecture and Integration, Coalition Interoperability, Combat Capability Development, Data and Standards, and Cyber and C2 Operational Development (C3OD2).


This position specifically supports the Coalition Interoperability Division in coordinating U.S. service and multinational information sharing, command, and control efforts.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Deliver technical and analytical expertise to facilitate requirements management for C2 and IT systems, supporting senior staff.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of C2 across U.S. and multinational coalition operations, contributing to the Mission Partner Environment (MPE) requirements management.
  • Analyze and recommend solutions that promote data and technology sharing between the Department of Defense and mission partners.
  • Support J6 government representatives at conferences, including Executive Steering Committees, and manage governance activities for DoD implementation initiatives.
  • Prepare and present recommendations, reviews, and briefings to the JS J6 DD C5I Coalition Interoperability Division (CID).
  • Coordinate technical and operational support for JS J6 in collaboration with other DoD entities.

Requirements

  • Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field (e.g., engineering, chemistry, physics, computer science), or
    • Equivalent military operational experience or DoD government experience (10+ years).
  • Clearance:
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI access.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical, writing, and presentation abilities.
    • Familiarity with C2 systems, coalition interoperability, and multinational coordination.
    • Proficiency in coordinating and presenting technical support at senior government levels.
