Maintenance Mechanic I&E

This role is responsible for maintaining the site and its equipment at base condition through Preventative and Predictive Maintenance while using the Work Order system to document repairs. The Maintenance Mechanic will interact with operations and use problem solving skills to maintain the site’s equipment and facilities.

What You Will Do:

• Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
• Performing preventative maintenance
• Handling basic repairs and maintenance
• Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them
• Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
• Meet PSM requirements for proper documentation of Maintenance activities
• Meet safety requirements for Life Critical Policies

Position Details:

• Plant location: Carson, CA
• Work week and shift: Monday-Friday 5:00am-1:30pm
• Compensation package offered:  $36.00 - $42.00 / hour, depending on experience
   

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 6 months experience performing routine maintenance
• Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices (i.e., tools for shaft alignment, torque wrench calibration, meter calibration, etc.)

Physical Demands:

Demands of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

• Sitting, standing, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods
• Lifting, squatting or carrying objects/parts that could meet or exceed 50lbs
• Pushing/pulling of parts, equipment, piping, etc. 
• Driving forklift/maintenance cart
• Manipulation of parts, equipment piping, etc., which may include reaching
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years of related experience
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools (i.e., hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches)
• Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
• Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
• Strong organizational and follow up skills, and good attention to detail
• Professional presentation and attitude
• Ability to maintain focus while working individually and strong time management skills
• Applicable certifications

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

$36.00 – $42.00 / hour. This position pays an hourly rate and is eligible for overtime. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
