General Summary
- Works directly with the Senior Vice President of Medical Group, and indirectly with Chief Medical Officer and Senior Leadership to conduct full-cycle recruitment in sourcing top talent for the organization in addition to developing and implementing recruitment strategies to develop, align and manage an outreach plan to colleges of nursing and physician assistants, medical schools, residency and fellowship programs to support network growth while ensuring the successful onboarding and integration of new physicians into our healthcare team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all department personnel, capital and working budgets, supplies, programs, general policies and compliance with accrediting agencies and development of initiatives for recruitment, screening, selection, and placement of physicians and providers, as well as other areas as assigned.
- Participates in the planning and directs the implementation of Phelps Health physician alignment strategy, medical community development strategy and evaluation strategies to maximize recruitment, onboarding and retention to meet the needs of the community.
- Participates in the planning and directs the implementation of Phelps Health overall Provider recruitment plan.
- Maintains a current and accurate Provider recruitment document.
- Analyze key factors leading to turnover, focusing on building and implementing a variety of retention efforts.
- Provides data trending, analysis, and action plan development and implementation, prepares summaries of projects and communication of results.
- Participates in the identification, development, and implementation of strategies related to all potential avenues of provider recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
- Partners with Medical Group Senior Leaders for successful planning, recruiting, on-boarding and retention of providers, supporting the current and projected needs.
- Clearly and concisely communicates to leadership regarding effectiveness of the recruitment, onboarding and retention initiatives of the Health System.
- Develops and implements talent acquisition processes, including innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Develops and maintains contacts with placement firms, current medical staff, current medical groups, hospital and practice administrators, vendors and other sources of applicants.
- Drive continuous process improvement to enhance the physician and provider recruitment and onboarding experiences across the organization.
- Establish relationships with academic program coordinators, directors, medical directors, advanced practice providers and physicians to strategically develop early prospects.
Education
- Bachelor's degree; MBA, MHA or other Master's degree is preferred. Industry specific leadership experience may substitute for degree.
Work Experience
- A minimum of 4-6 years’ of recruitment experience, preferably in a leadership function. Experience working directly with Senior Leadership to implement organization wide initiatives preferred.
Certification/License
- Valid MO Driver’s License Required. Board Certification in Healthcare Management or other relevant industry recognized certifications from organizations such as (ACHE, MGMA, SHSMD), is preferred. Significant industry relevant experience may substitute for a certification.
Mental/Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting multiple deadlines. Must have strong written and verbal communications skills and be very organized and tolerate a dynamic and shifting work environment. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
Working Conditions
- Working conditions are primarily normal office environment with some travel and overnight travel required. Must be will to work evenings and weekends on occasions.
