•    This job is a member of the Air Partnerships team.
•    The Senior Manager – Air Partnerships will be responsible for managing partnerships with airlines in North America and for leading our strategy for developing FFP agreements with partners around the world.  This role may require extensive travel.
•    Success in this role is measured in two areas: (1) revenue enablement from our North American airline partners; and (2) enhancements to the AAdvantage program’s value proposition through expanded earning and redemption opportunities on partner airlines worldwide.  This role requires an ability to achieve results through difficult, multi-round negotiations and the ability to leverage all parts of the AA organization to support the development of our partnerships.

What you'll do

•    Strategic Planning: Understands and identifies areas in which AA can expand and deepen its airline partnerships in a way that maximizes the value for our customers.  Creates new and creative approaches toward creating that value.  Assesses the competitive landscape, sets objectives for partnerships, and establishes a plan for achieving objectives.  Works with Commercial Planning & Analysis team to measure and assess the success of these strategies.
•    Relationship Management:  Builds and maintains relationship with airline partners in North America.  Works proactively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to eliminate friction points and build a seamless customer experience.
•    Partnership Needs & Opportunities Assessment:  Understands the role airline partnerships play in AA’s strategy.  Engages partners and internal stakeholders in discussion/diagnosis of business needs (both known and unknown). Documents and validates business needs prior to presenting solutions.
•    Negotiations:  Understands the value levers for AA’s airline partnerships, particularly those involving FFP, and negotiates agreements with partners that create mutual benefit based on the principle that those partnerships should create an expanded AA network, an improved customer experience, and ensure AAdvantage delivers best in class travel experiences for its members.
•   ��Offering & Value Proposition Development, Communication & Proof:  Maintains expertise in both AA and alliance products and services, including oneworld and JBs. Tailors each partnership to meet specific business needs. Communicates in a compelling way and provides proof of value to partners.
•    Value Reinforcement, Account Penetration & Pull Through:  Prepares compelling summaries of actual value created by partnerships, while being transparent where value has exceeded expectations and where it has fallen short.
•    Managing the Internal System:  Has a deep understanding of AA's internal business processes and protocols. Understands cross-functional capabilities and maintains a strong internal network.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
•    Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training.
•    7 years relevant experience
•    Experience building relationships that create mutual benefit for multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
•    Airline related experience
•    Graduate level education in relevant field
•    7-10 years successful partnerships and financial analysis experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
•    Excellent strategic planning that balances potential and achievability.
•    Strong negotiation skills that lead to mutually beneficial deals
•    Ability to accurately diagnose known and unknown business needs and translate needs into opportunities and appropriate offerings.
•    Effective leveraging of value delivered to increase mutual value.
•    Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
•    Strong knowledge of and ability to implement value-based airline partnerships, particularly FFP relationships.
