MySQL Heatwave - Software Engineer Intern (6 month duration starting winter 2024 or spring 2025, on-site)

Intern Role intended for current graduate level students (MS/PhD) AND enrolled in a full-time degree program after completion of the internship. Internship is 6 months, starting in winter or spring. Must be on-site at Redwood, CA office.

The Corporate Architecture organization develops core technologies used to build the autonomous, secure, and intelligent Oracle Cloud. What You’ll Do:

HeatWave team is working on next-generation large-scale distributed systems designed for the most popular database in the world and optimized for the cloud. We need expertise in the following (or related) areas:

• Database kernel development
• System software, including operating system kernels
• Cloud computing
• Machine learning
• Query processing/big data analytics
   

What You’ll Bring (Objective Minimum Qualifications):

To be considered for a Software Engineer Intern position in the Corporate Architecture MySQL Heatwave organization, you must possess the Objective Minimum Qualifications (OMQs) below. Please ensure that your application clearly indicates that you meet these OMQs, either on your resume and/or by uploading additional documents such as a transcript.

• Will be enrolled in a Master’s, or PhD degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent science/engineering field during the 2025-2026 school year.
• Are proficient (i.e., able to complete coding projects with no assistance) in at least two of the following programming languages:
  • C/C++
  • Java
  • Python
  • SQL
• Have completed coursework, projects, internships, and or research in two or more of the following:
  • Compilers
  • Software Architecture
  • Computer Systems / Embedded Systems / X86 Architecture / Operating Systems
  • Distributed Programming
  • Multithreaded/Multi-Core Programming
  • Object Oriented Design
  • Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning / Natural Language Processing
