Located at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, this position plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control designated networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability that provides an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to enhance overall performance. Furthermore, C2BMC is an essential component of all ground and flight tests, which verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of the missile defense system.
The C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO) will report to the Operations Lead and is responsible for the daily oversight and guidance of more than 75 personnel (including 24/7 crew filling C2BMC Command Center positions), following overarching directions and objectives. The CWO oversees C2BMC Operations & Maintenance (O&M), network monitoring, and network defense of the C2BMC mission systems, and makes day-to-day decisions on the operations floor to assure the availability, quality, and security of services vital to C2BMC mission systems operations, command and control (C2), and information sharing.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for overseeing and managing all C2BMC operations, including monitoring and reporting on the health and status of the global C2BMC enterprise
- Ensures the accuracy of all reports, keeps leadership informed, recommends courses of action, and maintains the current status of all systems at all times
- The CWO maintains the integrity of the operations floor and ensures crew members are adequately trained, certified, and capable of performing all assigned missions, while ensuring shifts are adequately staffed and conducting thorough changeover briefs
- Effective communication skills to brief technical system and network issues, as well as overall system reports, to program management and customer leadership using appropriate tools such as Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required
Basic Qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Project Management, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
