With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems.
How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. We are seeking a Quality Specialist who will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and methods to enhance the quality of products, components, and operations across the business unit. You will also be instrumental in analyzing and interpreting quality-related data, providing expertise in standard procedures and quality audits, and participate in process reengineering and recommendations to strategically drive continuous improvement.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
1. Quality Process and Planning:

Develop, assure, and maintain the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures (e.g., ISO 9001:2015 standard requirements), quality audits, quality reviews, methods, process reengineering, etc.

Establish policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, components, and operations.

Make recommendations and drive the project execution, leading without authority across different functions within the organization.

Collect, organize, and maintain quality-related data from various sources, including product defects, process deviations, customer complaints, and other quality metrics.

Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that may impact product or process quality.
2. Reporting and Compliance:

Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate quality metrics and insights to the Quality Department and other relevant teams.

Assist in maintaining data systems, databases, and records for the Quality Department.

Act as a liaison between internal teams and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth integration of the ERP system.

Collaborate with other super users to ensure comprehensive coverage across all functional areas.

Recognize the critical role in the long-term success of the ERP solution and work towards making the company more self-sufficient post-launch.
3. Problem-solving and Continuous Improvement:

Interact with Quality Engineers and other professionals to understand the root causes of quality issues and deviations through data analysis.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvement initiatives and implement corrective actions.

Maintain and update quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and ensure alignment with organizational quality goals.

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of quality tools, quality management principles, and quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement certification (Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Experience with Machine shop, manufacturing, and material storage is a plus.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Data Science, Statistics) or equivalent work experience.
Travel & Working Environment
- Standard hours: 8:00AM – 5:00PM
- Onsite in Orlando Manufacturing facility
- Flexible to work overtime to meet business needs
- Occasional travel (including overnight stays) may be necessary for training, supplier assessments, etc.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 40 lbs.
