Shift Schedule: This position will support our night shift operations with a standard schedule from Sunday through Thursday 9:30 pm to 6:00 am. The position may require occasional overtime, on-call responsibilities, and after-hours support for projects or business critical repairs.
Job Purpose and Overview
As a Maintenance Technician III, you will be responsible for safely repairing and maintaining industrial machinery, equipment, and PLC/electrical devices for a multi-line food manufacturing facility that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will be responsible for keeping lines running, maintaining the equipment, and improving upon existing processes.
What Does It Take to be a Maintenance Technician III at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be fit for this job.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; an associate’s degree in industrial maintenance is highly desired.
- Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience with food manufacturing is a plus or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLCs with light programming, variable frequency drives (VFDs), switchgear, motors, and process control instrumentation
- Must have extensive experience and familiarity with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Must be able to troubleshoot these systems and change components as required to repair inoperative equipment and return them to serviceable condition.
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) required experience.
- Must be proficient in electrical troubleshooting 24V DC-480V AC, diagnosis and repair.
- HVAC knowledge is highly desired
- Ability to perform Preventative Maintenance such as lubricating, inspecting, and evaluating equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as electrical schematics, blueprints, ladder logic diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow maintenance team members and members of other departments.
- Must understand and follow OSHA regulations as they pertain to all aspects of maintenance e.g. Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Confined Space, Working at Heights, etc.
- Must have proficient computer skills, be familiar with Microsoft Office
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide

- Proactive maintenance to include all equipment and machinery in the plant. Keep equipment and machinery in safe working condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Respond to all maintenance calls in a timely manner and perform preventative maintenance.
