Aeris Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced Optical Assembly Production Lead for full-time positions at Aeris’s headquarters in Hayward, CA.

As the Optical Assembly Production Lead, you will be responsible for the production and testing of the optical cores of our state-of-the-art trace gas analyzers. The optical core is the “engine” of each gas analyzer and must be assembled meticulously with the highest level of rigor. We are seeking self-motivated candidates that possess suitable skills, including familiarity with lasers and optical systems as well as excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication abilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the optical team meets its production goals including safety, quality, and training
  • Drive the continuous improvement process and be accountable for the production-related documentation
  • Assembly and testing of optical and mechanical subsystems including laser, lenses, mirrors, detectors, mounting hardware, etc.
  • Inspection, cleaning, and quality control of all components
  • Ultra-precise alignment of optical cells
  • Maintain optical benches and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and implement prescribed safety regulations
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset by learning continuously and being a proactive member of the team


Requirements

  • Bachelors in related technical fields (preferably optical technology and instrumentation)
  • 2+ years of applicable experience in team lead and/or management
  • 5+ years of applicable experience in optical system alignment, integration, and test
  • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma and standard continuous improvement methods
  • Ability to work safely with lasers and perform precise alignment of components
  • Ability to handle, inspect and clean sensitive optical components using industry-accepted methods
  • Ability to handle sensitive electronic components, including use of multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic test equipment
  • Excellent soldering, wiring and assembly skills
  • Familiarity with data acquisition hardware and software
